Academy Location
Mountain Kids Academy takes place in beautiful Aspen, Colorado.With the high quality facilities of the school district and the amazing mountain trail network, Mountain Kids Academy is able to offer a stellar experience for its campers.
All participants must be signed in by an adult upon arrival each morning.
All participants must be signed out by a pre-designated adult when picked up.
The first two sessions of Mountain Kids Academy will be held at the Aspen School District campus.
- The morning will start off each day at the new football field below the Aspen Middle School. This facility has recently been remodeled with state of the art artificial turf. This makes an excellent surface for both Soccer and Lacrosse as it enables the balls to roll easily and makes ball handling more efficient. The beginners will especially appreciate this great new surface as it provides a very predictable platform for all activities.
- The Basketball portion of Mountain Kids Academy will be held on the Aspen School District campus as well. It will take place within one of the four gyms. The specific gym will be announced at a later date.
Please use the Middle School parking lot to park for any amount of time. There is no parking in the bus barn area.
Directions to the Aspen Campus (Football Field):
Heading towards Aspen on Hwy 82, take the first right exit out of the round-about on Maroon Creek Rd. Take the 3rd left into the bus barn garage area, you will see the football field entrance there.
Construction Notice:
The district is in the process of having a new middle school built so there will likely be construction equipment around. Please keep an eye on your kids when walking to the field area (you must sign them in). The entire field is safe as it is surrounded with a high fence.

This is the outdoor education portion of Mountain Kids Academy. Its location is within the scenic mountains that surround Aspen. We will meet in the Aspen Middle School parking lot each morning at 8:30. Trails for each day will be posted/announced prior to each day. As you know the weather may not cooperate with the day's hike, if this occurs activities will take place in one of the school district gymnasiums.
Session IV Backpacking
The specific details of the trip logistics will be posted when we get closer to the trip.
We meet at 9:00 in the Aspen Middle School parking lot the morning of July 12th, quickly check packs and load the van. We will return on July 14th at 3:30.
